Professional Experience
Independent Consultant for Associated BanCorp, Green Bay, Wisconsin, (Spring 2008, and Fall 2008-Spring 2009):
- Built tools, utilities, reports, data sources and VBA programming to complete a chart of accounts conversion on two SRC systems used by the bank. Ran the modifications through a complete mock conversion process without errors. Wrote a 34-page manual to document the conversion process and the custom tools written for it. (Spring 2008)
- Served as Master System User (MSU) for the bank's two SRC systems from October 2008 through May 2009. Modified and error-checked templates, SPMs, etc. Answered user questions and provided trouble-shooting expertise during the bank's year-end budget and forecasting processes.
- Trained the newly hired Master System User on the bank's data structures and budgeting/forecasting templates.
- Added new logic to the bank's existing templates to calculate cost allocations according to new requirements.
- Built a new template to allow the bank to forecast Expected Losses and Capital Allocations (ELCA) according to new best-practices specifications provided by an outside consulting group.
- Built custom reports and provided report training for newly-hired users.
Independent Consultant for CBIZ Inc., Independence, Ohio, (Summer 2007 to Present):
- Rebuilt an existing Business Objects Planning system for use in CBIZ's 2008 Budget and Forecasting cycle. Modified existing complex structures to improve both efficiency and integrity. Installed comprehensive verification structures to ensure data integrity.
- Added two new data sources to the system database to capture new lines of business. Built budgeting models to accommodate these new lines.
- Increased database efficiency by 50% through restructuring of data sources and eliminating unneeded records and elements.
- Built custom reports and provided report training for existing users.

Independent Consultant, Fieldstone Communities Inc., Newport Beach, California, (Spring 2003 to Present):
- Designed and programmed a full budgeting and forecasting system for a $500 million homebuilding company. The system is based on Excel with VBA programming and a SQL database back-end. The firm uses this system for quarterly re-forecasting and board reporting.
- Using Excel, modeled project-level forecasts providing for Cash Flow, P&L, Loan Activity, Balance Sheet and Equity Partner schedules detailing the financial position of each project ten years into the future, by month.
- Using Excel as the front-end and a SQL database as the back-end, built what-if and scenario planning capabilities based upon user-defined variables.
- Developed a top-level consolidation tool for data collection and reporting. This feature also automatically calculates inter-company eliminations for over two dozen legal entities.
- I currently provide occasional phone support and modifications as needed.
Consulting Services Manager, Frango AG, Stockholm, Sweden, 2001-2003:
- Trained all the budgeting software consultants within the Frango group, consisting of over 30 consultants in 13 countries in Europe and Asia. Frango was the overseas re-seller of SRC Software systems.
- Solved design and technical problems in implementations throughout the group's scope.
- Served as one of the principle contacts with the product vendor, SRC Software.
Chief Systems Consultant, SRC Software, Portland, Oregon, 1995-2000:
- Designed and installed custom budgeting and financial reporting software packages for mid-to-large sized organizations in a wide variety of industries. Built over 40 separate packages throughout North America.
- Trained key users.
- Managed relationships with some of the firm's largest clients.
